"One Day Escape to Mysore with Friends"
If you're looking for a quick yet fulfilling getaway from Bangalore, Mysore is the perfect destination—and that’s exactly what my friends and I discovered on our recent one-day trip. From scenic train rides to majestic palaces, spiritual hilltops to street food , our day was packed with adventure, laughter, and lots memories.
Starting Off: Early Morning at Kengeri Railway Station
Our journey began in the early in the morning . We gathered at Kengeri Railway Station, sleepy-eyed but buzzing with excitement. The cool morning breeze and the calm station platform made for a peaceful start.
We caught an early train at 7:00AM heading to Mysore, and the ride itself felt like the beginning of a movie—conversations flowing, snacks being passed around, and our playlist setting the tone and we made some reels. The green fields and misty skies outside our window made the ride scenic and serene.
First Stop: Chamundi Hills and the Mighty Mahishasura
Upon reaching Mysore, we took a local bus to our first destination—Chamundi Hills. The ride up the winding hill roads offered us refreshing views and a sense of calm.
At the top, we visited the famous Chamundeshwari Temple, perched majestically with its intricate architecture and spiritual energy. As the crowd was more we took 100rs Special Entry ticket After offering our prayers, we strolled over to see the massive and colorful Mahishasura Statue, a symbol of the victory of good over evil. Of course, we couldn’t resist taking a bunch of group photos with the towering figure.
No trip to Mysore is complete without witnessing the grandeur of the Mysore Palace. We took a short ride from Chamundi Hills to the heart of the city where the palace stood, as magnificent as ever.
From the intricate carvings to the stained-glass ceilings, every inch of the palace told a story of Mysore’s rich royal past. We walked through the opulent halls, admired the artifacts, and imagined what life must have been like during the Wodeyar dynasty. The palace gardens were a perfect spot to relax, click more pictures, and enjoy some local ice cream.
The Journey Back: Memories Made
As the sun began to dip, we wrapped up our little royal escapade and headed back to the railway station. Tired but happy, we boarded the evening train and We played some interesting games reached Kengeri Railway Station around 8:30 PM, bringing our short yet fulfilling trip to a close.
